Universal Brother/Sisterhood Activity of the International Sufi Movement
Beloved brothers and sisters all over the world,
It is a great honor to have the privilege of being in contact with you all, with the help of this Internet means of communication. When addressing you as brothers and sisters, I am expressing all the feelings in my heart for all God’s children. We all come from the same source and we shall all return to that same source.
Want does it matter in which country one was born, or in what Culture or Religion one was raised. It is our behavior as loving brothers and sisters to one another- beyond all circumstances and differences - that counts.
Each one has to live in the way which has been adopted, and consequently, there are many lessons to learn from one’s own conscious or unconscious acts, which are either creative of inner peace or result in unfavorable happenings for oneself, as well as for those with whom one is destined to live with.
What ever we may be, whether Mother or Father, Priest or a Soldier, rich or in need, we are all subject to the vulnerability of the feeling heart, which experiences tenderness in the same way in all beings, although the modes of expression are different, and the reactions vary in accordance with one’s nature, one’s up-bringing and one’s experiences.
There is so much incomprehension in our world, and there is so much fear in one-way or other. There is so much craving for domination at all levels of our society. We are divided because we don’t see the truth anywhere, which explains why we are so dependent upon each other. Therefore, to be of some use to our brothers and sisters, let us avoid wanting to dominate, but rather venture to show an example of understanding for the opinion of others.
The ideal of the International Sufi Movement’s activity called Universal Brotherhood and Sisterhood is to invite all good wills to unite together in Love, Harmony and Beauty, and to believe that it is possible to unite when rising above one’s own limitations and attuning oneself to the great stream of love. The nature of life is love, and love is like a stream of water, which spreads beyond all borders. All together, in one’s inward longing for unity, we are all as so many drops of one and the same ocean of love.
