Hejirat Day Message, 2008

So many years have passed since our Master left behind beloved India, where intense musical glory had been experienced in the great palaces of Maharajas, and where numbers of golden medals were offered in highest recognition of our Master’s musical genius. On the other side of the picture, precious spiritual attunements were experienced as valuable sources of inspiration, and which inwardly stimulated our Master’s courage and determination to venture overseas to new worlds, where commercialism and endless varieties of materialism seemed to be so contrary to India, land of sweet, legendary dreams.

The great Ideal of carrying a Universal Message to the world was our Master’s sacred mission, and no sacrifice was too great while treading that thorny path, where the work which was destined to be accomplished grew gradually, day by day. In time, an organization was created with the purpose of establishing a world-wide movement, built brick by brick, with the precious help of numbers of followers who willingly answered the call, and soon a large group of enthusiastic members assembled, like so many musical tones added to one same symphony, where Spiritual Liberty was the key tone followed in the work to be accomplished.

Through the centuries, the same Light which has always been worshiped in every period of religious history, has been expressed in repeated transmissions of one same Message, whatever the Message was called and in whatever shape it crystallized within various local cultures. That ever-shining light, which has always been independent of the structure of the lamp, is now being recognized as a message of the unity of all religious ideals, celebrated as the religion of the heart by all those who are awakened to the universality of the call from within.

Are we really conscious of the privilege that has been granted to us to be door-openers to the Universal Temple of all religions? In this sacred place, where each one is respected, there is no fear of falling into traps of dogmas and pre-conceived ideas built up over centuries by the followers of the followers, who have long since lost hold of the original Message. That constant call cannot be other than one for tolerance and understanding for each other’s belief, without needing to belong to a closed, conventional, fanatic, man-made system. If there is any religious truth to be found, it is in becoming a living example of Love, Harmony and Beauty, which is the religion of the heart, and which is void of any of the false pretence so often used as a means of hiding inner insecurity concerning true spiritual consciousness.

In view of our responsibilities as servers of the Message in our time, let us always keep in mind that the Spirit of Guidance, which is ever present in our hearts, constantly guides us on the path. In our meditations and prayers our deepest Ideal is to discover the Divine Presence within, as our Master said: "I looked for Thee in Heaven, my Beloved, but at last I have found Thee hidden as a pearl in the shell of my heart."

With heartiest congratulations on Hejirat Day
from your affectionate brother and sister
